Clinical Indications

Diagnosis of infectious gastroenteritis, food poisoning, traveler's diarrhea, and persistent diarrheal illness. Particularly valuable in distinguishing between bacterial, viral, and parasitic causes to guide appropriate treatment.

Stool transport container with Cary-Blair preservative
Transport Conditions
Maintain at room temperature or refrigerated; transport within 48 hours
Specimen Stability
Stable in preservative at room temperature for 4 days

Patient Preparation

Collect stool specimen in provided collection container. Do not contaminate with urine or toilet water. Specimen should be collected before starting any antibiotic treatment if possible.
