Clinical Indications
Screening and diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections in sexually active individuals. Recommended for routine screening, new sexual partners, symptoms suggestive of STI, or as part of prenatal care.

Specimen Requirements
- Specimen Type
- Urine (first-void preferred), vaginal swab, endocervical swab, urethral swab, or rectal swab depending on clinical presentation

- 20-30 mL for urine specimens

- Maintain at 2-8°C and transport within 24 hours

- Stable at 2-8°C for up to 72 hours
Patient Preparation
For urine specimens: Do not urinate for at least 1 hour before collection. First morning specimen or first-void urine provides optimal results.
